DID Did you know that Jenny Lumet, the screenwriter for the critically acclaimed Rachel Getting Married, is the granddaughter of singer-actress Lena Horne?
Yes, she co-starred in her father Sidney's 1990 film "Q & A." She played the girl the hero (Tim Hutton) lost because of his reaction to meeting her black father, who presently is dating Armand Assante's not-so heroic Puerto Rican drug lord character Bobby Texador. The real villain in the piece is Nolte who plays a chillingly brutal and evil NYPD detective.
Yeah, when I found out I thought it was pretty cool. Her script is amazing. It's always exiting to see a mixed chick out there making her way in Hollywood.

I read that years ago in my parents "Jet" magazine...sometimes it pays to read Jet, if only for info you get nowhere else....
btw, I read that Lena's daughter married Lumet before I fully realized who Lumet was. Oh, to be such a youngin' again :-)
Merry xmas and a happy new year. All seems well.
