P-Diddy Gets Serious About Acting With Miles Davis Pic

What's he calling himself these days anyway? If he's indeed serious about acting, he might want to consider getting serious about his name. Let me help - how about just plain and simple Sean Combs? Works for me!

In the video clips below, Sean Combs says he's putting his other business ventures on hold (music, clothing etc) - well, not necessarily on hold, but rather transferring CEO duties to other comparable human beings, so that he can really focus on his acting career!

One particularly interesting (if not frightening) excerpt from the clips:

- Sean has a Miles Davis feature in the works for him to star in! As he states in the clip, a script is being written for the project, and he claims that it will be an atypical portrayal of the legendary jazz man. What we're supposed to infer from that is anyone's guess... like I said, interesting, bold choice yet FRIGHTENING! Who knows, maybe he'll convince Todd Haynes to direct and we'll get a I'm Not There kind of adaptation. Likely not...

Here are the clips:

Diddy = Miles Davis: Wrong on so many levels.

In case he didn't know, Don Cheadle is currently working on starring in the Miles Davis biopic. Leave the real acting and serious topics to the big boys Diddy.

I watched the clips and thought it was a joke like a skit from Mad TV or something so I laughed a lot :^)

He's kidding right? Maybe he'll sample everything like he does in his music. I hope the Miles Davis estate, whoever runs it, doesn't agree to this.

@ nic - It'll certainly be interesting to see if this ever comes to fruition. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't somewhat intrigued. At worst, it'll be a trainwreck and we can all have a good laugh about it :o)

@ Echo - You know, it does have a kind of ambiguous tone to it - like you're not sure whether to take it seriously. The fact that he seems so earnest about it all is scary funny!

@ Albertine - I don't even know who runs the Miles Davis estate, or if there's even one. I'll have to research.
