I certainly hope so!
According to a Pew Survey on News Consumption (taken every two years and released this afternoon), the national average for answering the three questions was only 18%!!
Let me repeat that again... 18-freaking-percent! Are you kidding me?
According to the release, even though most Americans surveyed scored poorly on the test, a vast majority of them actually believe that they follow national news closely - obviously not close enough! Maybe this shouldn't be a surprise, but it's rather pathetic and embarrassing.
