Release Date Change For 'Hancock'

According to SlashFilm, Hancock will be released in select theaters one night earlier than the July 2nd announced date. Apparently, Columbia Pictures has decided to hold nationwide screenings of the film on Tuesday July 1st, a day earlier, beginning at 7:00pm that day. So, for you impatient fanboys and girls, you are advised to "check your local theatre listings" for screening details.

    Studios usually do this kind of thing for major releases to capitalize on buzz. They must have high hopes for the film because you know those folks who see the film on the night of the 1st will run back home to post their thoughts online which could have an effect on those who plan on seeing it later.
