Tom And Denzel Together For The First Time?

According to Entertainment Weekly...

Warner Bros. production president Jeff Robinov is intent on luring Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington together for a film called The 28th Amendment, a political thriller being developed with director Phillip Noyce - responsible for previous similar successes like Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger.

The story is about a president who comes to find out that the United States is actually controlled by a super secret organization who will assassinate anyone who gets in its way. Mr. President realizes his newfound information puts him at the top of the Assassination List.

No word on who will play what roles in the film. I'm guessing one will be the president (the good guy), and the other will be the head of the illuminati (the bad guy).

If this happens, it will be the first collaboration between Tom and Denzel. I'm sure the budget will be astronomical, as will the class of egos on the set :o)

My first thought was..."Can they afford both Denzel AND Tom?"

Their salaries alone will be what...$50 -$60mil? Maybe more if they do the "back-end" deals Tom Cruise is famous(and wealthy) for.

But I will say, if it's done right...I'm there.

@ Nic - that was one of my initial thoughts as well - salaries! The film had better be damn good if it's to make its money back, or even a profit.

@ Wendy - Likely... he's taller and more "presidential" I guess! Maybe we'd see a fight scene between the two of them. I'd put my money on Denzel kicking Tom's ass!

i cant see either actor wanting a big dose of money
rather; make a kick ass film

as for denzel, i would rather see him for president

i luv tom "the bad guy" collateral etc

tom to me comes across more of a bad ass than being presidential
