Friday Funnies - Hillary's WV Constituency Speak

If I were Hillary, I wouldn't be so proud to know that these are the kinds of people who supported me to a win in the West Virginia democratic primary a few days ago. Sad, sad, sad... but rather humorous as well, hence the "Friday Funnies" tag! Thanks to Harry Allen for the link.

Thanks for causing perfectly healthy brain cells to die prematurely...lol. You have to give the little old white lady props for keeping it real. She doesn't want a black man in the White House. Period.

Better to be overt than covert, I say. Why hide who you are, or pretend, or wrap your thoughts up in euphemisms?

I suppose it's easy to laugh at folks like these, and I'm certainly guilty of that :o) But it's also rather unfortunate that their brand of thought is still real and probably even more popular than we might think. We still have a long way to go in this country apparently.

I guess this is what passes for 'blue collar' these days... How's that for euphemism?

I'm astounded by how many times in the last month I've heard that term used, often without the word 'white' preceding it - suggesting, perhaps, that there's no such thing as black 'blue collar' workers. But then, blacks don't work, do they...? not voluntarily, anyway; and they don't know the words to the Star Spangled, um...

    *sigh*

I wonder if any of the people interviewed have seen themselves in the video clip, and how they feel about what they saw... I wonder if they'll see what we see. Likely not... but sometimes seeing yourself exposed in such an unflattering way can cause a shift in how you see yourself, which could be a good thing. Wishful thinking... I know.
