Michael Moore (And Tambay Obenson) Ask PA To Vote Obama

It's really puzzling to me how free-thinking, supposedly intelligent human beings can be so blind and so easily coerced by other human beings with mere words. I suppose fear can be quite the motivator! Of course I'm referring to the scare strategies the Clintons have used to smear Obama's reputation in order to swing the pendulum of votes in Hillary's direction - at least temporarily enough to win! Are Americans really that dense that they can't see through all their bullshit tactics? If anything, we should all be insulted, because the Clintons are essentially counting on the stupidity of the American public to win the nomination. What they are saying to us is, we (the Clintons) think very little of your intellectual competence and basic common sense that we will continue pulling the wool over your eyes until you act in our favor. Why? Because we can... because you allow us to do so... because you're all so fucking stupid and gullible! That's what they are telling us, and have done so repeatedly! The mindblowingly unfortunate thing is that it's actually working! There are mofos out there who are buying the bullshit! If Hillary wins the nomination, it'll be really unfortunate for America, because it will say plenty about how far we still have to go. The joke will be on us, and everyone else will be laughing, but us. We really are a nation of sheep...

My Vote's for Obama (if I could vote)... by Michael Moore

Friends,

I don't get to vote for President this primary season. I live in Michigan. The party leaders (both here and in D.C.) couldn't get their act together, and thus our votes will not be counted.

So, if you live in Pennsylvania, can you do me a favor? Will you please cast my vote -- and yours -- on Tuesday for Senator Barack Obama?

I haven't spoken publicly 'til now as to who I would vote for, primarily for two reasons: 1) Who cares?; and 2) I (and most people I know) don't give a rat's ass whose name is on the ballot in November, as long as there's a picture of JFK and FDR riding a donkey at the top of the ballot, and the word "Democratic" next to the candidate's name.

Seriously, I know so many people who don't care if the name under the Big "D" is Dancer, Prancer, Clinton or Blitzen. It can be Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Barry Obama or the Dalai Lama.

Well, that sounded good last year, but over the past two months, the actions and words of Hillary Clinton have gone from being merely disappointing to downright disgusting. I guess the debate last week was the final straw. I've watched Senator Clinton and her husband play this game of appealing to the worst side of white people, but last Wednesday, when she hurled the name "Farrakhan" out of nowhere, well that's when the silly season came to an early end for me. She said the "F" word to scare white people, pure and simple. Of course, Obama has no connection to Farrakhan. But, according to Senator Clinton, Obama's pastor does -- AND the "church bulletin" once included a Los Angeles Times op-ed from some guy with Hamas! No, not the church bulletin!

This sleazy attempt to smear Obama was brilliantly explained the following night by Stephen Colbert. He pointed out that if Obama is supported by Ted Kennedy, who is Catholic, and the Catholic Church is led by a Pope who was in the Hitler Youth, that can mean only one thing: OBAMA LOVES HITLER!

One's true nature is revealed when faced with defeat. The Clintons are definitely revealing their true colors and they're U-G-L-Y.

Whenever I think of Hillary now I imagine being back in high school and pummeling her with eggs... like we used to do at Holloween. Ahem...I mean like other people used to do in my high school...yeah that's it.

I hope and pray that the American population has been underestimated.

Ah, the American fail-safe: Fear of a Black Man.

Given that Obama hasn't run his campaign based on race (something that many African-Americans didn't appreciate when he started his campaign), the Clinton (and media) campaigns' use of the race card is just an indication of how deep this fear goes.

I don't think anybody, not black American, white America, the media, and certainly not the Clintons, felt Obama stood a fighting chance of winning the Democratic nomination, let alone the presidency.

But hold on... Where's HRC's huge lead? Where's the majority support from super-delegates?

The Clintons are putting partisan politics aside and making this personal! It's one thing being a friend to coloured folks (including one Rev. Jeremiah Wright) and being (or being married to) the 'First Black President.' But come on, people! This is a black man against a white woman! Need we drag up the historical significance of this!? In the good ol' days of overt racial division, bigotry and hatred, a black man could have been hung on the say so of a white woman who claimed he'd looked at her shadow the wrong way!

Obama's 'lack of experience' hasn't seemed to put too many people off, so where to go next? Put the uppity (elitist!) negro in his place! And that place in the hearts and minds of white America in the guise of FEAR!!

And yes, they are relying on the blinkered stupidity of many Americans. I'm not saying that American people are stupid (Obama's popularity among both black and white voters proves this) but for a very long time, a vast majority of people have preferred to live their lives according to what they're told by people in 'authority' thereby absolving themselves of any responsibility and feeling vindicated in being able to lay blame for any disappointments in their lot in life squarely at someone else's feet (usually feet that look very different to their own or those of the 'authority' they cleave to).

However, even though Obama concedes that Clinton will win PA, Pennsylvania is not the USA. There's a wind of change sweeping across the country and the Clintons are desparately trying to stop the critical mass that this call for change is bringing with it.

I've never taken such an interest in the run-up to US elections before (although the last debacle did come a close second) but I think it's fair to say that the rest of the wold is watching America and hoping. America bashing has been fun for us all, especially over the last four years, but it's getting tired now and we all seem to be in need of a country, other than the ones that we call our own, that we can admire again - America hasn't been that country for a while now but hope doth spring eternal.

Realising too late that a large swathe of the white upper, professional and educated classes and a majority of African-Americans are backing Obama, the Clinton's are desparately clinging to their last bastion of hope, the (mainly white) sheeple who need to be told what's right for them (history would indicate that fear of black people is it) rather than rely on their own under-utilised wherewithal.

HRC may win PA, but not be as much as she'd like or needs. And hopefully the wind of change will bring a whiff of the stench of her own fetid fear and desparate arrogance to her nostrils and make her reach for the smelling salts and retire gracefully from the race.

Cue Sam Cooke's 'A Change is Gonna Come'

Um... Here ends my rant. Sorry, Tambini, next time I'll write my own blog...!
