WTF - Torture Porn

wtf

Who in the world watches movies like Hostel I and Hostel II, and actually derives pleasure from doing so?

I happened to stumble across Hostel II this evening, while flipping through my cable TV movie channels, in search of something to kill some time with, before hitting the sack. I've seen parts of the first entry in the series, Hostel I - just enough to become sufficiently turned off (although it didn't take very long), instantly changing the channel to something less unappealing.

Part 2 is even more vile and disgusting!

I don't understand how the near equivalent of snuff films actually navigated their way through the ranks of the studio system, ending up on thousands of theatre screens nationwide, for audiences, young and old to "enjoy."

These are 2 of the most depraved, cruel and barbaric excuses for films that I've ever seen, and, as far as I'm concerned, have absolutely no reason to exist!

They're unconscionably misogynistic, and downright sadistic, and I'm genuinely concerned for what impact each has/will have on the impressionable minds of those who have/will see these films, who lack the psychological faculties necessary to process this garbage.

Of course, we've heard films from previous years described in very similar ways; meaning, my present rant certainly isn't breaking any new ground. However, it does appear to me that these so-called "torture porn" flicks have grown progressively more violent, sexist, and very "real," making it increasingly difficult to dismiss them all as pure fantastical entertainment! And I can only wonder just how further we're willing to allow them to go with the violence, sex and misogyny. I'm certainly no prude, but what's a Hostel movie going to look like in another 15 years, compared to what a similar brand of movie looked like 15 years ago?

Quentin Tarantino, by the way, is listed as producer on both Hostel films. But each is far more disturbing and disgusting to me than anything Tarantino has done, and I can't imagine what's running through the mind of Eli Roth, the man behind both flicks.

Enlighten me on this folks, if you can. Am I simply overreacting? Is this just business as usual, and I'm late to work? What am I missing? Are there others connections to be made?
wtf

Good Saturday Morning!

good
I'm sure we've all been here before... while I certainly don't condone the use of violence as a solution to a problem like the one below, however, quite frankly, there have been moments when I've felt almost as enraged as the man felt... certainly not enough to fire my pistol... not that I even own one... which I don't!

PHILADELPHIA — A family talking during a movie enraged a nearby viewer so badly that he shot the father in the arm, MyFoxPhiladelphia reports.

Philadelphia police say James Joseph Cialella Jr, 29, shot the man after a brief altercation inside the Riverview Movie Theatre.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm.

Cialella was still inside the theater when police arrived. He was found with a black Kel-Tec .380 handgun on the front of his waist.

Police arrested and charged him with attempted murder, aggravated assault, violation of uniform firearms act, possession of an instrument of a crime, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

What the hell was this fellow doing with a gun in a movie theatre? Soon, certain theatres will require all patrons to walk through firearm detectors and other security checkpoints!

I looked up the theatre mentioned in the full article (United Artist Theatre Riverview Plaza in South Philly). Apparently, it's a really shitty establishment, based on the plethora of disapproving comments - with most agreeing that screenings are full of loud, inconsiderate, and rude groups of people, calling the customer service "downright awful," and strongly advising others to stay away, and go elsewhere!

Duly noted...

How Infuriating!

I hope the man in this video is first caught by a group of vigilantes, and is beaten mercilessly, until he's almost unrecognizable, before being left at the doorstep of the nearest police station!

If the video isn't clear enough, here's a written explanation:

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn — Cops released video on Monday capturing a punk's attack on an 85-year-old woman. The surveillance video shows the robber following Lilian France into the elevator of a Crown Heights building, and then choking her from behind.

She was left panting on the floor as he ran off with $900, and her cane, as the video shows.

Police believe the cowardly thug has gone after nearly a dozen seniors in Crown Heights, Kensington and Flatbush during the last few months.

The robber — described as a man in his 20's or 30's — likes to follow his prey into their apartment lobbies to share an elevator ride, said police. Then, "he approaches them from behind... Either knocks them over or puts them in a chokehold."

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS, or text in their tips to 274637 and then enter TIP577.

There is a reward of up to $12,000 if he is captured.

Get Your Shit Box Right Here, Right Now!

No - there's absolutely nothing wrong with your computer screen. No need to adjust it! What you see isn't a figment of your imagination. You're not on an episode of the Twilight Zone. Ashton Kutcher isn't "punking" you! What you see is very real ladies and gentlemen.

Oh those silly Brits and their ingenuity! Why didn't I think of this?

The story goes... UK-based company, The Brown Corporation has designed and built the useful little device you see above called, The Shit Box! And guess what it's for? If you're clueless, or you really must know more, follow the link below, where you can buy one of your own for around 15 quid or 30 American dollars, and get 10 non-reusable FREE poo bags (thank goodness for that!).

Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones Sell Clinton Stories On Web For $1.99

Oh boy! This is rather unfortunate and distasteful on the part of the two women. But if good old Slick Willy can emerge from each scandal relatively unscathed and fairly well off financially, why shouldn't they? I guess a girl's gotta eat, right?

Side note: I'm not sure how Hillary was able to stomach each fiasco, one after the other - those that were publicized and those that weren't. There was Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, and now there are
rumors that he also had an affair with actress Gina Gershon. Likely there were others.

Anyway, according to CNN, Gennifer Flowers and Paula Jones are offering Internet viewers the lurid details of encounters they claim they had with former President Clinton - for $1.99 a pop. No joke! Read the entire story HERE.

From The "Screw Your Poverty" File...

How much is too much? Apparently, there is no such thing as too much to 48-year old Indian billionaire, Mukesh Ambani, the 6th richest person in the world (according to Forbes Magazine), with an estimated worth of $43 Billion!

I submit into evidence, Antilla, the Ambani family's future domicile, the worlds most expensive home, currently in construction in Mumbai, with a price tag of $2 Billion! Yes, a $2 Billion home. I didn't think such a thing was actually possible. I've seen sprawling centi-million dollar estates owned by Hollywood elite like the Spellings, and tech tycoons like Bill Gates, but Antilla trumps all of those by at least $1 Billion.

So, what does a $2 Billion home include? It's a 27-story skyscraper standing at 550 feet high with 400,000 square feet of interior space, no two floors are alike in either plans or materials used, a lobby with nine elevators, a large ballroom with 80% of its ceiling covered in crystal chandeliers, an ice room where residents and guests can escape the Mumbai heat to a cooled chamber dusted by man-made snow flurries, and the first 6 stories are just garages for their cars.

What does a $2 Billion home look like? Below is a draft by the premiere architects who designed the structure with the Ambani family.

Here's a video clip India's CNN:
