RIP
I'm sure most of you have already heard the sad news...

She died yesterday, at the age of 81. Colon cancer was the cause.

Indeed... indeed...

George Carlin On Religion

I'm sure everyone knows he died earlier this week. Here's a classic clip of the man at work, and one of my favorite George Carlin moments:

MSNBC's Tim Russert Dies Of Heart Attack At 58

This just in... The New York Times is reporting that MSNBC's Tim Russert has died of a heart attack at the age of 58.

No other details were made available.

Sydney Pollack Is Dead.

According to the New York Times, Sydney Pollack, a Hollywood mainstay as director, producer and sometime actor whose star-laden movies like The Way We Were, Tootsie and The Firm, were among the most successful of the 1970s, '80s, and 90s, died on Monday evening at his home in Los Angeles.

He was 73. Cancer was the cause of death.

His work in front of the camera was just as impressive, prominently featured in the films of notable directors like Stanley Kubrick (Eyes Wide Shut), Woody Allen (Husbands & Wives), and Robert Altman (The Player). His most recent performance was in the critically acclaimed corporate thriller, Michael Clayton, alongside George Clooney.

I was a fan... and still am.

Heath Ledger found dead in NYC

Not a black performer, but still a shocker... I was looking forward to seeing his performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight this summer. What a shame...

NEW YORK - Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence, and police said drugs may have been a factor. He was 28.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let him know the masseuse had arrived found him dead at 3:26 p.m.

The Australian-born actor was nominated for an Oscar for Brokeback Mountain, where he met his wife, actress Michelle Williams, in 2005. Ledger and Williams had lived in Brooklyn and had a daughter, Matilda, until they split up last year.

Ledger was to appear as the Joker this year in "The Dark Night," a sequel to 2005's Batman Begins. He's had starring roles in A Knight's Tale and The Patriot, and played the suicidal son of Billy Bob Thornton in Monster's Ball.
